Off the Record – 03.14.25

This week’s episode of Off The Record celebrated Women’s History Month with songs strictly from female artists like Cindy Lauper, Chaka Khan, Karol G and much more. We had our 5-minute news cast with Bryce Johnson and Mia where we discussed upcoming news within our sister branch, Mako TV as well as Mako News. We continued with our Art of the Matter segment with Carey Courson who had an amazing guest, Justin Tran where he touched on his solo piece in the ACDA National College Dance Festival. We also had A Campus Life Events update where we discussed the upcoming events like Holi, All Fins In, Wonder Women- Women’s Leadership Panel and much more. Sports followed with The Current’s Sports Editor Bella Giaquinto where we discussed the latest in sports around campus like basketball, tennis, swimming etc., while also talking about NSU Men’s Basketball recent win in the Sunshine State Conference! A quick Women’s History Spotlight was given with the help of Maria Rodriguez AKA DJ Clover where we talked about female pioneers that have shaped our society as a whole with notable names like Rosa Parks, Amelia Earhart, etc. We, of course, had our shark cage business interview done by Gabriela Alvarado AKA DJ G and Natalia Vega AKA DJ Naty where they interviewed the owners of Tealight! We shed light on Mental Health with some quick tips centered around women’s mental health. Lastly, the pop culture segment shined through with a quick recap about the Oscars’ and who won and what our thoughts were, where we were joined by Bella Giaquinto, Natalia Vega aka DJ Naty, Maria Rodriguez aka DJ Clover and Michael Lynn. The episode provided captivating segments that are worth a listen!
