Diabetes Walk
The JDRF One Walk Event was held at NSU outside of the Alvin Sherman Library. This event was put together to raise money and support those with Type 1 diabetes. They raised over $100,000 that goes towards research to cure Type 1 diabetes.

Woman Panel
The Alvin Sherman Library, Broward County Public Libraries, and Mako Media Network joined together to host Women Who Tell Our Stories panel. At this event three female leaders from Mako Media Network spoke about their journeys as leaders and working in media.

Undergrad Student Symposium
Nova Southeastern University’s 21st Undergraduate Student Symposium was held on April 5th to April 6th, where students from a variety of fields has presented their research to the masses. Mako TV reported on the energy everyone was feeling those days.

A new series, What’s Cooking with Dr. H, is hosted by Paulina Riojas. Riojas talks to Dr. H, Mako Media Adviser, about Dr.H’s show, In The Kitchen with Dr. H, a program that looks at healthier options for the Caribbean community in South Florida.

2x NCAA – NSU Women’s Swimming and Men’s Basketball Team
The NSU Men’s Basketball and Women’s Swim Divisions are NCAA DII champions. A small festival has been placed in their honor, in front of the Shark Fountain, outside the Don Taft Center. Members from both teams officially presented the trophy. President L. Hanbury II has cheered the teams on, giving a speech at this event, and sharing his praise for both teams.
